At the V&A Marina today with Table Mountain in the background

So yesterday I started the first part of my journey down to Cape Town via Dubai with Emirates. I’m typing and updating this post at 36000ft. Technology is so amazing these days.

My boat and crew had a great result on leg 1 coming in 3rd. A slight problem as they left Uruguay though, as a day and a half in to leg 2 they collided with a whale and had to return to port for repairs. This means the boat will be late into Cape Town so we’re going to be in for a very quick turn around. I’m imagining a hand brake turn into the marina on Friday. Throw everything off the boat for a deep clean. Reprovision for the next leg. People off and people on. A day on the water for those of us who haven’t been doing any sailing for a while to get back up to speed and then we depart for Freemantle on 31st which will be halloween, how fortuitous!
